Motala longwave update

Lennart Deimert of the Motala LW radio group informs us that the exciter of the transmitter is working well but the power amplifier is not working properly. Therefore it is not clear whether there wil be any broadcast on LW 189 kHz on the 2nd of May. Stay tuned for further updates.

Westdeutscher Rundfunk closing on MW

Westdeutscher Rundfunk will cease broadcasting from Langenberg 720 kHz and Bonn 774 kHz in the beginning of July 2015. (Info Digital  April 29th, 2015 via A-DX Christian Milling via Bengt Ericson, ARC)

Bayerischer Rundfunk closing down medium wave frequencies

Bayerischer Rundfunk will close down these frequencies from September 30th, 2015. These frequencies  are used for Schlagerwelle Bayern Plus.

München-Ismaning 801 kHz 100 kW
Dillberg 801 kHz 17 kW
Würzburg 729 kHz 1 kW
Hof 729 kHz 0,2 kW

Programinslag om Arctic Radio Club över Salasändaren den 30 maj

I specialprogrammet från Sveriges DX Förbund lördagen den 30 maj 2015 kl. 12.00-13.00 UTC kommer det att ingå en presentation av Arctic Radio Club. Bretagne 5 has been awarded its official license for 1593 kHz today.
Location : Saint-Goueno. Altitude 307 metres
Antenna height: 45 metres
Radiated power: 10 kw daytime (9 am to 5 pm local time / 0700 to 1500 UTC in the summer) / nightime 5 kW (5 pm to 9 am local time / 1500 to 0700 UTC in the summer)
Attenuation pattern: -1 dB from 350° to 90° and from 160 to 220°

Test transmission from Motala longwave, Sweden 191 kHz

Christian Stödberg writes in the Skywaves DX Facebook group:
"2nd May will there be test transmission from the old longwave transmitter in Motala, Sweden on 189 kHz. I will check power and time and reply later."
It's not the original 150kW transmitter though a new, smaller one with low power.
