Radio Seagull 1602 now on the air from the high seas
For those of you who liked listening to offshore radio in the 60s, 70s, and 80s a reminder that Radio Seagull has begun its live broadcasts from its radio ship, the LV Jenni Baynton, daily at 1700-0500 UTC on 1602 kHz and online worldwide at radioseagull.com and iTunes. These will continue through 31st August. For the live broadcasts, the web feed is using the mediumwave signal, thus giving you the feel of listening on mediumwave wherever you are. Coming up tonight at 2300 UTC is Bob Noakes, formerly of RNI and Radio Caroline. The schedule changes each day, so everyone is on the air but at different times. I'll be on board for the whole of next week, and really looking forward to it. Joining us next week is Carl Kingston, who some of you will remember from the Voice of Peace. For updated schedules and photos visit our special Facebook page - Radio Seagull Offshore 2014. (Andy Sennitt writes on Facebook via Mike Terry, MWDX via Tore Larsson, ARC)

Radio Waddenzee/Radio Seagull going offshore again
NETHERLANDS
Petris Knapas has posted on Facebook:
21. June 2014
Hi folks,
I received a nice message from PanEuropean Radio, the organisation behind Radio Waddenzee and Radio Seagull. They are planning to go offshore again from the 2nd half of August;)... The Jenny (Baynton) shall be anchored 8 miles from the Dutch coast in open sea. THis means a much better reception in The Benelux, UK and Scandinavia. The ship can be visited during the offshore event, ticketprice for boattrip plus visit shall be announced later. The event is a special one in memory of the end of the Dutch offshoreradio period and the start of the in Spanish/USA/Mauritian based Radio Caroline, Mi AMigo, Monique, Laser and Delmare.
More information at the Facebookprofile of Radio Waddenzee and, in a short time. also at the site of both at 1602 KHZ operating stations http://www.radiowaddenzee.nl/ and https://www.facebook.com/Waddenzee1602AM/photos/a.259819454096954.64599.121958351216399/652277981517764/?type=1

Radio Waddenzee closing down
The Dutch commercial radiostation Radio Waddenzee, broadcasting on 1602 kHz medium wave from an old lightvessel near Harlingen will stop broadcasting on the 29th of June. The station announced that on their website. Problem is, they don't have enough advertisers. Because Radio Waddenzee has a 1 KW transmitter, they can be heard in the northern part of the Netherlands only. And in the Netherlands , apart from some freaks, nobody listens to mediumwave anymore. Radio Seagull has left 1395 kHz
The Netherlands
1395 R Seagull has left this frequency! Message on their website:"1395 AM - April 2013 - Radio Seagull’s co-operation with the 1395 licence holders has ended, and Radio Seagull will cease broadcasts on 1395AM at 7pm on April 30th. We have been using the frequency for 13 months, and would like to thank everyone who sent in reception reports etc.
Radio Seagull will continue daily broadcasting via 1602 from 7pm til 7am (CET). Taking into consideration that the Spanish 27 kW co-user of 1602, Radio Vitoria, will cease using this frequency by April 30th we hope to increase our coverage. http://www.radioseagull.com/news.html"
