Bulgarian MW stations closing down
From Georgi Bancov in Bulgaria I have got the following information today. The situation by BNR:
Varna 774, Stara Zagora 873 and Shumen 963 will be shut down on January 1st, 2013. 747 and 1161 kHz will continue broadcasting. However Blagoevgrad regional radio on 864 kHz will continue in order to serve the listeners in southwest of Bulgaria and nearby Macedonia. The Horizont transmitter in Kardhzali on 963 kHz will continue broadcasting. From BNR webpage it is stated that the frequencies of 864, 963 and 1161 transmit Turkish programs for one hour at 06, 13 and 18;30 UTC. (29.12.2012 Bengt Ericson, ARC, Växjö)
