Radio Seagull taking over 1602 kHz 24/7

We are delighted to tell you that, from the beginning of July, Radio Seagull will be available on 1602 kHz around the clock.
Transmission power 1kw.
Enjoy the summer with Radio Seagull 1602 24/7.

Radio Seagull 1395 AM off air

Due to damage to the aerial system on the radio ship Jenni Baynton, caused by a fierce storm on Sunday, 1395 AM will be off the air for probably the next few days. The engineers, whilst working on the necessary repairs, will also take the opportunity to make some adjustments and this will avoid them having to switch it off again in the near future.

Transmissions on 1602 AM (from 7 pm till 7 am CET) will continue uninterrupted as will the stereo internet feed which is “on air” 24 hours a day.

Radio Seagull test update

1395 AM - Update 2

2nd part of 1395 test  finished.

Wednesday October 26th 2011 the LV Jenni Baynton returned to her homeport Harlingen (Holland). The second part of the test program has finished and it is time to put all the reports and measurements together to see   what the results are. Adjustments to the antenna have given the signal a boost   as to how far we get, but unfortunately that lead to reception nearby being less   sucessful. However it is like we have
stated many times, this is why it is a  test.

The ship has now returned to port and preparations are now going on to sort things out for the third and final phase, expected to   start first week of November. We have one more " experimental antenna"  to test,   after which we will return to the basic set up which will probably mean we will   be getting into area's we were getting into during the first few days.

The anchoring in the Waddenzee was for testing the new anchor as well. We have finally got our own anchor, a special mushroom   anchor designed for stationary ships like lightvessels. The anchor held perfectly and indeed the lifting was a bit of a job for the old windlas, but it   did the job well.

So both tests were successful. Stay tuned and do send in a reception report during the 3rd part of the test, even if you have already done so before. Thanks in advance.

Radio Seagull back with further tests

Tests from Radio Seagull on 1395 kHz is back after a few days of absence over the weekend. Monday night at 2100 carrier and a few minutes later the music was on. Signal strength S9+. (Bengt Ericson, ARC, Växjö)

Radio Seagull from Jenni Baynton at new anchorage

1395 kHz. Radio Seagull started broadcasting from a new anchorplace this evening. At  2100 UTC the reception was excellent. They totally override Russia on the same frequency.(Bengt Ericson, ARC, Växjö)

The radioship Jenny Baynton will test the new 15 kW Continental Electronics transmitter on board from October 1st, 2011. Frequency 1395 kHz. The ID used will be Radio Seagull. The test will be from different locations offshore. More information on Radio Seagull's webpage. (Bengt Ericson, ARC)
