Greece radio update

I wrote this to WRTH Facebook:
Again tonight 729 carries Flash 96.
1260, 1404 is // with 9420 now at 2030, earlier local px.
1008, 1278, 1314, 1512 own prgr.
666, 792, 981, 1179 off.

I suppose Flash 96 on 729 kHz could be regarded as a new station, because legally ERA doesn't exist this week.

Radio Waddenzee closing down

The Dutch commercial radiostation Radio Waddenzee, broadcasting on 1602 kHz medium wave from an old lightvessel near Harlingen will stop broadcasting on the 29th of June. The station announced that on their website. Problem is, they don't have enough advertisers. Because Radio Waddenzee has a 1 KW transmitter, they can be heard in the northern part of the Netherlands only. And in the Netherlands , apart from some freaks, nobody listens to mediumwave anymore. ERA Rhodes still on the air with local programming

ERA Rhodes, Greece on 1260 kHz is protesting by running their own program. Very good reception in southern Sweden at 2000 UTC. Mentioning several telephone numbers, e-mail addresses etc. Discussions, some high voices and few musical interludes.         (Bengt Ericson, ARC)
