in order to find out where the IPDA relay station in this town is located. Here is his information:

Fui hoje a Santo Amaro da Purificação, cerca de 60/70 km daqui de Feira de Santana, somente para ver o endereço dessa emissora e encontrei o endereço da Rádio. Não tinha ninguém no momento nos estúdios, pois eles estavam em culto e retransmitindo os programas da IPDA de Salvador, como sempre. Tinha um carro na garagem, mas acredite, não havia nenhuma inscrição com o nome da Rádio, mas os vizinhos e outras pessoas confirmaram que ali era a Rádio Independência da Bahia da igreja IPDA. -1349.834 Radio Santa Beatriz, Cusco, logged in Scandinavia last spring and again in February 2012 with folklore programming. They are easily spotted thanks to a characteristic wobbling carrier. Frequently announcing 103.3 // 1350. The station belongs to the Radio Las Vegas group, whose station in Cusco has been heard on several occasions on 1510.

-1549.83 A station relaying La Voz de la Liberación was heard late December 2011 shortly after 0800 UTC. The mention of the address of IPDA church in Lima, Jirón Carabaya 923, seemed to indicate that this was Radio Indpendencia, in Lima. Pedro F. Arrunátegui subsequently measured the frequency on his equipment as 1549.84. (Henrik Klemetz)

New Philippine MW station: DWUN 1350 kHz

A Philippine MW-station of UNTV relay during the Autumn was finally heard with a full ID "UNTV Radyo La Verdad Tapat at Totoo 13-50" on Jan 18th. According to several web-pages the station started with own programs on Jan 16th after several months test with UNTV relay (which were heard often in Scandinavia since October 2011). According to web-pages the power is 50 kW and the call now is DWUN. The station has been heard on 1349.97 kHz. (Tarmo Kontro, ARC, Finland)

531 kHz is the best channel heard late evenings in Växjö, Sweden. The mix of music is very enjoyable.

NORWAY

Berlin DRM 1485 off!

Special New Year's programmes from RNE, Canary Islands

The last night of every year brings us a unique opportunity for catching the RNE stations in the Canary Islands with own programming at night. All RN and R5TN outlets leave the national network at some point around 2230 UTC/Canary Is. time (2330 in mainland Spain) for a regional special program to receive the new year. The content is usually funny music with phone calls from listeners and messages from the Regional Goverment President and some other Authorities. Samoa drops Friday, December 30

The day of December 30 will be deleted from the Samoan calendar. This is being done in order to bring the nation closer to the time zones of its biggest trading partners, Australia and New Zealand. Samoa is 11 hours after GMT and from having been one of the last places where the new year begins it will now become one of the first. German mediumwave stations closing down

Several mediumwave stations in Germany are due to cease transmissions within the next couple of weeks. The first to go, on Friday 30 December, is the low power (0.6 kW) SWR station at Ulm on 1413 kHz. The following day it is the turn of high power (700 kW) gospel station ERF at Mainflingen on 1539 kHz and the WDR mediumwave transmitter at Langenberg on 1593 kHz which has been broadcasting in DRM mode.

On 8 January SWR will cease its mediumwave broadcasts of the "Bodensee Sender" on 666 kHz (150 kW). In addition, the broadcasts of the WDR mediumwave transmitters at Muhlacker on 576 kHz (100 kW), Freiburg on 828 kHz (10kW) and RheinSender/Wolfsheim on 1017 kHz (100 kW) will close.

2nd part of 1395 test finished.

Wednesday October 26th 2011 the LV Jenni Baynton returned to her homeport Harlingen (Holland). The second part of the test program has finished and it is time to put all the reports and measurements together to see   what the results are. Adjustments to the antenna have given the signal a boost   as to how far we get, but unfortunately that lead to reception nearby being less   sucessful. However it is like we have
stated many times, this is why it is a test.

The ship has now returned to port and preparations are now going on to sort things out for the third and final phase, expected to   start first week of November. We have one more " experimental antenna"  to test,   after which we will return to the basic set up which will probably mean we will   be getting into area's we were getting into during the first few days.

The anchoring in the Waddenzee was for testing the new anchor as well. We have finally got our own anchor, a special mushroom   anchor designed for stationary ships like lightvessels. The anchor held perfectly and indeed the lifting was a bit of a job for the old windlas, but it   did the job well.

So both tests were successful. Stay tuned and do send in a reception report during the 3rd part of the test, even if you have already done so before. Thanks in advance.

Tyrone Community Radio has now returned in the early hours of Saturday morning 27th aug to its old freq of 1512khz mw low power at the moment. ARC Newsflash: Turkish MW transmitter Antalaya 891 reactivated

TRT seems to reactivated at least 1 mediumwave transmitter at night. 891 kHz Antalya was very strong at 2100 UTC on August 8th. Dominated the frequency completely. ID” TRT - Ankara Radio” was announced several times. Signal a bit overmodulated.
I also heard a weaker and more disturbed signal on 1062 kHz at the same time, but different program. Turkish music and songs. No ID. (Bengt Ericson, ARC, Växjö)

ARC Newsflash: Radio Marina to test from radio ship on 1485 kHz

Dutch regional commercial broadcaster Radio Marina will be on the air this weekend with a test transmission from the radio ship Jenni Baynton in Harlingen. The news and oldies station wants to see how much of the licensed coverage area it can achieve on its mediumwave frequency. According to owner Willem Rense Post this test is a step in the right direction: “The Radiocommunications Agency, the government organization that manages Dutch terrestrial frequencies, indicated several months ago some flexibility in dealing with requests to for re-coordination of transmission sites for mediumwave broadcasting, so there is a glimmer of light at last on the horizon. ”
Radio Marina 1485AM says it will not be just another non-stop music station. As well as presented music programmes it will also focus in short blocks on various locations around the IJsselmeer. Mr Post said “We want to provide regional news firsthand, through a network of local ambassadors, so as a listener you get a good picture of what’s going on in the region.”
The test transmission will take place from Saturday 30 July at 0600 UTC till Sunday 31 July at 1600 UTC on mediumwave 1485 kHz and on the Internet at http://www.radiomarina.nl/.

According to current information the programme will go out at 1130 UTC (1330 CET) on Sunday, July 24 on 9510 kHz and it will be repeated the following weekend at 0845 UTC (1045 CET) on Saturday, July 30 and at 1130 UTC (1330 CET) on Sunday, July 31.

GERMANY Dutch-based KBC Radio to test on Burg 531 kHz The website of Dutch-based KBC Radio says "KBC has received a test license for 531 kHz in Burg (Eastern) Germany. We keep you informed when we start testing. We are also talking for a few options in other countries as well. The reason that we are gonna test is to see if the signal is doing anything during the nightly hours."
This site of course has a very interesting history, having been a key site during the days of the GDR, but has been unused since 2008 following the closure of Truck Radio. KBC Radio via Biener-Media in Germany has published a press release informing they will test the old GDR-transmitter in Burg on 531 kHz to see if the signal is doing anything during the nightly hours. Special programme from the Arctic Radio Club

On Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24 at 1100 UTC (1300 CET) a 15 min. special programme made by the Arctic Radio Club will be aired by IRRS over a transmitter in Romania on 9510 kHz. The programme has been produced by ARC members Ronny Forslund, a/k/a Ronny B Goode, and Christer Brunström, chairman of the ARC. We are sitting in for Stephen who usually runs his programme 39 Dover Street at this time but as he is moving house he asked us to fill his airtime. Cuban "air defense" strategies

We have long noted that the Cubans are trying to block certain unwanted signals from Florida, WRHC, WQBA and a few other stations run by Cuban emigrés.

This is why Radio Rebelde can be found on numerous channels, including frequencies assigned to other stations.

It now appears that Rebelde is just one piece in a system where local, provincial and national services are combined to keep as many channels as possible alive 24/7 by sharing transmitter facilities.

Arguably the first example of this was noted two years ago on 1350, where Radio Libertad, was relaying the provincial service of Radio Victoria at night.

Last winter, Arnstein Bue, in Norway, was surprised to hear Radio Rebelde sign off on 980 at 1000. However, after the playing of the National Anthem, the frequency was released to the listed COCO El Periódico del Aire.

In November 2010, Arnstein noticed another anomaly, a Cuban on 1470 carrying Radio Victoria programming. In an interesting reply from this station, one now learns that the transmitter site is Puerto Padre, Las Tunas, the power 1 kW, and that the channel is actually assigned to Radio Chaparra (hitherto listed only on 90.9 FM), a local station at Jesús Menéndez. In the afternoon, the municipal station Radio Libertad carries on, and at night, Radio Victoria.

The schedule for the 1470 operation is given as 1100-1600 Radio Chaparra, 1600-0200 Radio Libertad, and 0200-1100 Radio Victoria.

MONTENEGRO 882 kHz When Wachenbrunn now has stopped the info-loop RTVCG Radio Televizia Crne Gore in Podgorica has been quite strong between 1958-2030 with news, sport and weather report until 2022. Then a nice singing ID and promo for Radio Crne Gore. Quite good music from the 70’s followed. At 2035 BBC and an Arabic speaking station took over. The local sunset in Växjö is at 1958 .
